So, This story about Mitt Romney's so called "pranks" is supposed to horrify and make people not want to vote for him. But I doubt it will impact many people that way. It reminds me of the Maurader's pranks- and the less dangerous/mean ones at that- and those, both in the books, and by most of the readers, were dismissed as "boys will be boys", especially since they were, by virtue of birth/the-author-says-so, gryffindors/chosen.w

I hated James and Sirius. Made it hard for me to stomach all J. K. 's going on about the great Lily/James romance because she must have been an idiot to take up with such a vicious little bully.

It's always left a bad taste in my mouth too. Strangely, people who'd otherwise be thoroughly against bullying tend to handwave it.

And yes, I suspect people who want to see Romney's behaviour as insignificant will do so. I liked the point in the linked article about how the most disturbing thing is his denial of it.
